Experience Renee Card Music

Artist Bio
Renee Card
Renee Card is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and worship leader who has spent the
majority of her life in rural Southwestern Ontario, Canada.
A mother of three children - Matt, Dylan and Ashley, Renee is the proud wife
of Mike and is kept busy and blessed within her family and music.
Renee is a worship leader at River City Vineyard Church in Sarnia, ON, where
she has dedicated the past ten years. Renee is very proud to be a part of this
church, and is honoured to be a part of the leadership team there.
Singing and playing piano since the age of four, Renee has a life-long
relationship with music and has recently released her debut EP album
entitled “Set Free”. Being able to release this particular CD was not only
a lifelong dream for her, but was also a very therapeutic tool at the time.
In early 2014, Renee was acting as a leader in her church, and looked
perfectly polished on the outside. However, on the inside she was drowning.
Life was slowly falling apart at the seams. She was sexually abused as a
teen, but was forced to stay silent. Burying the shame, she tried to push
forward in life, ignoring the fact that she was struggling. Renee was
secretly battling an eating disorder, marital problems, and many other
issues deeply rooted in shame. She got to a point that these issues almost
cost her everything – including her life.
Suddenly she hit a point of no return – face her past or lose her future.
Renee chose to fight for her future.
Renee first opened up to her pastor, and was then able to share her
story in front of her congregation. Since that time, she has felt a
tugging at her heart to share her story beyond her own church
family. It is a story of deep tragedy, but also an amazing
illustration of the wonderful grace of God showing up in the most
ugly and messy moments of a person’s life. It is proof that God
truly does give us beauty for ashes, and that healing is attainable!
The title track of “Set Free” was one of Renee’s earlier
written pieces, composed when she was just 13 years old.
Because she couldn’t tell anyone about the horrors she
was facing at the time, she wrote this particular song –
and then buried it.
Over 20 years later, it is a testament to everything God can do – you
truly can be SET FREE!!
